Integral Health, AI-powered behavioral health company, expands with Independent Health

Integral Health, an AI-powered behavioral health company, announced an expansion of its work with Independent Health.

Integral Health embeds the Collaborative Care Model into primary care practices, so behavioral health is treated where patients already receive care. A behavioral care manager checks in on a schedule and tracks symptoms with validated tools like the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, a consulting psychiatrist reviews the caseload, and the patient's own physician stays in charge of treatment.

Untreated behavioral health is one of the largest drivers of avoidable medical cost, and more than half of traditional behavioral health referrals never reach a first visit. Keeping care inside primary care is designed to close that gap, which is why the model is a covered benefit under Medicare and New York Medicaid.
